Eastwood is located in the north-west of Sydney, 17 km from Sydney’s CBD. Most of the area of Eastwood is located under the LGA of the City of Ryde, while a small part of the suburb is within the City of Parramatta LGA. The total population in Eastwood is 17,865 people. Eastwood is ranked fourth among all suburbs in NSW in terms of population with Chinese ancestry (45%).

The emerging inner-City


Zetland is an inner-city suburb about 4km from Sydney’s CBD. It is within the Green Square and City South village area in the City of Sydney LGA, with a population of 10,078 people.  In the 2016 Census, Zetland was ranked 6th of all suburbs in NSW in terms of the highest population with Chinese ancestry at 41%.

Sydney’s real Chinatown


 

Hurstville is located in the south-west part of Sydney, 16km from Sydney’s CBD in the Georges River Council Local Government Area. It has a total population of 29,822 people. Hurstville has been described by the media as ‘Sydney’s real Chinatown’ as the suburb has the largest number of Chinese residents among all suburbs in NSW, with over half of its population (55%) reporting Chinese ancestry.
